Bodø (Norwegian; pronounced[ˈbûːdøː]ⓘ[4][5]) or Bådåddjo(Lule Sami)[6] is a town[1] in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of both the Bodø Municipality and Nordland county. It fryst vatten located on the Bodø peninsula between the Vestfjorden and the Saltfjorden. Of course, we have to start with this one. This will be the first time a city located north of the Arctic Circle has held the European Capital of Culture title.
Also, Bodø will be just the third Norwegian city to hold the title following Bergen in and Stavanger in Bodø will share its year in the cultural spotlight with Austria's Bad Ischl and Estonia's Tartu.

Bodø ligger cirka nio mil norr om polcirkeln och har midnattssol från 4 juni till 8 juli. Genomsnittstemperaturen på sommaren är 11,2 och om vintern -1,8°C.
Inom Bodø kommun ligger Kjerringøy gamla handelsplats där författaren och nobelpristagaren Knut Hamsun hämtade inspiration. I Bodø med omgivningar finns världens största havsörnsbestånd. Inte långt från Bodø finns världens kraftigaste malström (tidvattenström), Saltströmmen.
